3D Lighting Artist and Generalist
Open for Beezness
Spring 2022. Sophomore Vertical Studio at Texas A&M University Visualization
Open for Beezness is my sophomore animated short film for Texas A&M Visualization Vertical Studio, created with a team of seven others over the course of one semester. As this was my first studio experience, I took on a generalist role and tried many different parts of the animation pipeline. Notably, I took on the role of lighting lead and was responsible for all of the lighting present in the short, including a global lighting setup and all shot-specific setups. I conducted visual research and worked from real-life reference of warm restaurant lighting, balanced between sunlight coming in through an off-camera window and the light bulbs above our character. Additionally, I was responsible for some prop modeling, prop surfacing, assistance with compositing, and all graphic design elements present in the short.
Roles: Lighting (Lead), prop asset modeling, prop asset look development/surfacing, compositing, graphic design and credits
Software Used: Autodesk Maya, Pixar Renderman, Adobe Substance Painter, Nuke, Adobe Photoshop, Procreate
Modeling
I was responsible for modeling 4 background assets: a dish rack, a rubber mat, a kettle, and a sink.
Surfacing
I surfaced a kettle and a rubber mat to learn Substance Painter.

Graphic Design
I was responsible for creating the logo and typesetting our credits.
